Renaissance architecture, stunning frescoes and Brunelleschi’s majestic dome in one of Florence’s most iconic monuments.

Florence Cathedral is situated right in the heart of the historic centre, in Piazza del Duomo. The complex comprises the cathedral, Brunelleschi’s dome, Giotto’s bell tower, the baptistery, the Museo dell’Opera del Duomo and the ruins of Santa Reparata.
Entry to the cathedral’s nave is free, but a specific ticket or pass is required to access other areas of the complex. If you’d like to climb the dome, book in advance: access is granted during a specific time slot.
Opening hours may be subject to change due to religious ceremonies, restoration work or unscheduled closures.
Buying your tickets for the Duomo via our website is convenient, quick and secure. You can opt for an audio-guided tour if you’d prefer to explore the cathedral at your own pace with detailed explanations. We also offer guided tours so you can gain an in-depth understanding of the monument’s history, secrets and anecdotes alongside an expert.
Accessibility varies across the different areas of the complex. Climbing to the top of Brunelleschi’s dome involves 463 steps, and Giotto’s bell tower involves 414 steps: neither has a lift. These are challenging climbs and are not suitable for everyone.
To visit the accessible areas or request assistance, please check the specific conditions for the monument and the selected experience in advance.
